We are a Dog Friendly Holiday Cottage in the New Forest

Five-star luxury for you, a whole New Forest adventure for your dogs!

At Undercastle Cottage, we believe a proper holiday should include every member of the family, especially those with four legs. Hidden away beside the River Avon, surrounded by ancient woodland and beautiful countryside, our luxury dog friendly cottage in the New Forest is a rather special place to escape with your dogs.

With walks straight from the door, acres of beautiful countryside to explore and the comfort of a five-star holiday home to return to, Undercastle Cottage makes a wonderful base for a dog-friendly holiday in Hampshire.

Whether you're planning a romantic break, a family holiday or a few peaceful days away with your dogs, you'll find a place that feels wonderfully removed from everyday life.

Bring Up to Three Dogs on Your New Forest Holiday

Finding a luxury holiday cottage that welcomes more than one dog isn't always easy. At Undercastle Cottage, up to three dogs are welcome, making it ideal for families with several dogs or couples who simply couldn't imagine going away without their faithful companions.

We're dog owners ourselves, so we understand how much nicer a holiday feels when everyone can come along.

There's no need to arrange kennels or find someone to look after your dogs while you're away. Instead, you can look forward to woodland walks, days exploring the forest, dog-friendly pub lunches and quiet evenings back at the cottage.

All we ask is that your dogs are well behaved and that you follow our simple house rules, which we'll share when you book.

Wonderful New Forest Walks Straight from Your Cottage Door

Dog walks in the New Forest

One of the greatest pleasures of staying at Undercastle Cottage is being able to leave the car behind and set off on foot.

The cottage is surrounded by ancient woodland, with lovely walks leading straight from the door. Follow quiet forest tracks, wander beneath towering trees and discover the New Forest's beautiful landscape, where ponies, donkeys and other wildlife roam freely.

You might choose a gentle morning stroll before breakfast, a longer adventure through the woods or a walk that conveniently ends at a country pub.

We've left maps of some of our favourite local walks at the cottage, so you can explore the surrounding countryside at your own pace.

With the New Forest National Park covering around 220 square miles, there is always somewhere new to discover. Just remember that the forest is home to free-roaming livestock and wildlife, so dogs should be kept under close control and on leads when necessary.

Imagine starting every morning with a beautiful woodland walk, without even having to get in the car.

Beautiful Gardens, Riverside Views and Room to Unwind

Undercastle Cottage is surrounded by a beautiful three-quarter-acre garden, with winding paths, ponds, little bridges and wonderful views over the River Avon.

For guests, it's an idyllic place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, relax with a book or simply sit and watch the wildlife. Kingfishers, otters, ducks and deer are among the many visitors you may be lucky enough to see.

The garden is also a lovely setting in which to spend time with your dogs, although the river, ponds and surrounding wildlife mean they should always be supervised outdoors.

What makes this setting so special is the sense of peace and privacy. There are no crowds, no busy resort facilities and no need to rush anywhere.

Just the gentle sound of the river, the changing light through the trees and time to enjoy being somewhere beautiful.
